There is much talk about the need for collaboration as a foundation to building inclusive schools. I think this quote speaks to the depth of this idea and reaches down beyond the action right to the heart of schools that are taking inclusive values and putting them in to action.
"I don't believe in charity. I believe in solidarity. Charity is so vertical.
It goes from top to bottom. Solidarity is horizontal. It respects the other person. I have a lot to learn from other people." (Eduardo Galeano)

Chris Klein: Seeing Unique Abilities
The whole talk is fantastic but I though the most profound part of it was this statement: "What is your disability? We all have a disability
here. Most of us in this room can hide their struggles but that
disability is constraining you in some way. When we mask our own
constraints, it's harder to see past the disabilities of other people
because we feel inadequate ourselves. It's time for us to stop
pretending that we have it all together so that we can share our
struggles together. When we do this, it's easier for everybody to see
past the disability and be able to see the gifts a person has to offer
to the community."
